Android Editors Introduces new Member Hannah Teoh
It’s with great pleasure to announce that Hannah has joined the Android Editors team! Hannah is a documentary photographer and joined Instagram the day it was available for Android devices. She began producing a series of photos called #ReadingInTransit , an ongoing mobile photography series featuring people on public transport who enjoyed reading printed materials rather than staring at their mobile devices.
Over time, overlays came into the picture, and she began experimenting with creative edits using the free overlay packs produced by other Instagram users. She likes to think of her feed as consistently inconsistent - showing everything from the simple beauty of minimal monochrome edits, to experimental technicolored street and travel photography.

Image blending using PS Touch Mobile

In the past year, Android Editors brought you Lumiforms and the iDroid collaboration projects. We have seen some amazing edits come out of these projects. With the release of PS Touch for Android and iPhone, a world of creative editing possibility has opened up. Blending Lumiforms into your images and being wildly creative with your iDroid edits is now easier than ever with this powerful tool.

We are very excited to see what the Android Editors community comes up with. Happy editing!

This image was done by AE member Tom using PS Touch to blend a Lumiform into the main image. We published an tutorial and it’s worth reading either if you are using Android or iPhone. Read it HERE.

iDroid Returns

During the month of December, Android Editors (@DroidEdit) teamed up with @AMPt and @WeAreJuxt to do a collaborative project called iDroid. The idea was a great success and got people shooting and editing images across iOS and Android borders. We were thrilled with the beautiful results and have decided to continue this collaborative and inspiring project.

Starting from February, we will be featuring one image per month selected from all images tagged #iDroid_Collab and which follow the rules below.

So let’s get talking, get collaborating and editing on cross platform images.

Just follow these easy steps.

  1. Share an image cross-platform with someone. This can mean shooting with Android/Windows, or iPhone.
  2. You must collaborate on an image with someone else on the other platform. You cannot do this alone.
  3. Keep a copy of the original image, and keep track of your editing processes as much as possible, because this will be part of features as well.
  4. Tag the final result of creative collaboration #iDroid_Collab. Notice the “i” at the beginning of that tag.

As a bonus of inspiration, have a look at the collaborative creativity of others using the tag.

Happy collaboration!

If you wonder how the overlays can be used, we have written two tutorials; one for iOS (iPhone) and one for Android. See HERE.

We want to remind you about a new Lumiforms feature next week where we select 16 of our favorites. So please continue tagging your edits #lumiforms.

Lumiforms Pack 1 Now Available for Download!

Unique, simple-to-use overlays for Android and iOS are now released by Android Editors. Lumiforms combine shapes, textures, lights and shadows taken from objects/areas you can find in every home; Bookshelves, walls, lamps, clothes, etc. and mixed together (hence ‘Lumiforms’). What’s unique about Lumiforms is that they are 100 % mobile, photographed and post processed.

Lumiforms are free. However we would appreciate it if you always use the hashtag #lumiforms (topic Lumiforms on EyeEm) when you make your work official. Doing so will also give you a chance to get featured by Android Editors. We would love to see how you use the Lumiforms and tagging is the way.

Download Lumiforms here HERE.

We have also made tutorials on how you can get started with Lumiforms.

Android Editors is pleased to announce that we will now be considering photos tagged #DroidEdit  on Google +, EyeEm, and Twitter for our features! We will continue to scout on Instagram as we always have. To participate, all you need to do is include the tag/hashtag or topic (EyeEm) “DroidEdit” on your Android mobile shots. Our schedule of features is posted on our website AndroidEditors.com and gives a description of what we are looking for. Thanks for your support. We are looking forward to showing off your great Android images!
